I have two Speed Eats suggestion for those going to the Joliet race and are willing to drive downtown Chicago for some great food and atmosphere =)

If you're into exploring new and creative cuisine and love Asian food, Sunda is the place to be.
Located in the heart of downtown Chicago, Sunda New Asian favors all walks of life (my brother who is all tattooed-up, rolled in with ripped jeans and a band tshirt on - to NO glares) - young and fresh with a chic edge. Definite date-worthy restauarant.

Some noteworthy apps:
Oxtail pot stickers - braised oxtail, caramelized onion, "white" wasabi cream
Lemongrass Beef Lollipops - NY strip beef, spicy chili glaze

For Main course, their Miso Bronzed Black Cod is award winning….and I can attest - it was the bomb.

You can also do the sushi route - "No You Didn't…the Ultimate Handroll" has crab, shrimp tempura, salmon, spicy tuna and "dynamite" hahaha
A menu complete with specialty rolls as well as sushi\sashimi list and your standard classic rolls.

Now, even more up my alley was their signature cocktail list. Drool-worthy. For Risk-Takers.
I started out with the Pear Sake - Grey Goose, Sparkling Sake, pineapple juice, ginger syrup, cinnamon rim
Moved onto the Go Go Berry - fresh muddled strawberries with malibu coconut rim, kilo kai, mango juice, club soda
Finished with the Blushing Geisha - tres generations tequila, pama, guava juice, club soda

I could have drank my dinner.

My second suggestion is more Juicetastic!

The BEST hotdog joint in Chicago when you're hammered and want some entertainment with your food. The Wiener's Circle. Located on Clark Street in Lincoln Park (very close to Wrigley Field), this hot dog stand is famous for four things: Chicago-style hot dogs, hamburgers, cheese fries, and verbal abuse between the employees and customers during the late-night hours.
I recommend this place when you've had a few too many and want something late night. That's when it's the most hopping.

Actual exchange:
Employee - "Frizzy! Yo frizzy! What the hell you want to eat? You gonna order or what?"
Juice - "Frizzy? What are you saying, my hair's a wreck?"
Employee - "Damn straight your hair a wreck. Frizzier than a dog air-dried after a bath"
Juice - "Wow. Well I'll have a hotdog and cheese fries."
Employee - "That it? You a skinny bitch. You should probably get a chocolate millkshake with that"

And so on.
It's incredibly entertaining. I promise.  And for those "in the know" - order a chocolate milkshake. They're to die for. =)

Sunda offers some amazing creative dishes.
