Seneca Lodge
THIS is MD's favorite spot to eat near Watkins Glen. It's a favorite for a lot of racing people, including Boris Said and Tommy Baldwin. The waitresses all wear Boris Said shirts throughout the weekend.  It's a beautiful Adirondack lodge setting.  OK... on the the food!  The Prime Rib at Seneca is the bomb and only available Fri, Sat and Sunday.  The London Broil is another can't-miss menu item!

The bar at Seneca Lodge is something of Motorsport Legend. Wreath's from F1 victors and memorabilia highlights this sneaky good watering hole. Our favorite part? See if you can find Tim Richmond's hat from his wild after party after winning his last race at Watkins Glen!

It's slightly tough to find but REAL close to the track. Once you find it, you'll never forget it!

Sorge's
I've been going to this joint for years in downtown Ithaca. It's a great little hidden, classic Upstate New York style Italian restaurant that has dished out good eats for over 50 years. I've never had a bad meal at Sorge's and the service has always been top-notch.  Hey, and TV/Goodyear rep Mike Siberini LOVES Sorge's... and he knows his food!

Stone Cat Cafe
Want to TRULY eat local? This place is as local as it gets...even when it comes to the making of it's great dishes.  The menu is funky and fun...we like that.  The chef utilizes locally grown ingredients, so if you are big on "organic," here you go!  They smoke all of their meats and fish using local fruitwood. Stone Cat offers several great Gluten-Free options as well.  Oh, and the view from Stone Cat is absolutely beautiful.

Bernie Murray's
A great Upstate New York flavor bar & grill in Elmira. Sprint's Chris Madigan is a huge fan of this place. The owner is like family and he even worked there for a few years.

"The wings are some of the best I've ever had," says Madigan. "The ribs are grilled perfectly and the Big Bernie Burger is awesome. The atmosphere is old-school Irish. It's an incredible local flavor."  Also don't overlook their fish fry.

Savard's Restaurant
This is MD's quick-stop for breakfast before hitting the track at Watkins Glen. Savard's is a lot more than breakfast!  Savard's is more than breakfast though, even though we've never had their dinners. It's a local favorite so check it out.  if you're looking for a solid family restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere, this is your place. They have good burger options.

Waffle Frolic
Waffle Bar? WHATTTTT? Yeah, it's for real. Waffle Frolic is a waffle bar and coffee house in Ithaca.  We've heard about this place and have been recommended. We like the concept and had to give it a shout out!  Looking a the menu, you can order a waffle and a load of choices for toppings. Also featured are Chicken & waffles (nomnom!) and an unusual cornbread waffle topped with Turkey Chili.  They too offer Gluten-Free items. Check it out and let us know what you think!
