It's the coolest race destination in Charlotte and a must see for anyone visiting the area. If you haven't been, you are missing something truly special. click here
Rosario's Pizza
Our Matthew Dillner is the mayor of this brilliant food find. So close to the track you can taste it! If you don't like Rosario's, you don't like NY pizza. This family owned joint has one of the best slices in NC. Sneaky menu too that includes great italian dishes and surprisingly tasty calamari. Caprese slice or Grandma slice is a must. The new Bruscetta slick has become as favorite as well as the sausage and pepper special slice. The Large Panini's are made with their homemade bread. NASCAR Teams freqent this slice of heaven. If you don't go to this place during Charlotte Race Weeks, I feel bad for you!

The Speakeasy Alehouse
This is MD's favorite new food find in the historic downtown part of Concord. It's hidden away, but sometimes hidden finds are the best. Don't go to this bar and grill expecting typical bar and grill foods. Most of the menu items that chef/owner Adam Lewis dishes up have unique culinary twists that make the Speakeasy a true original.
MD's Favs: Try the BBQ Rootbeer Empanadas. Yeah, they are basically smokey BBQ Donuts! Amazing. Also the Hop-Along Cassidy, a burger w/ Red Pepper Relish balanced w/ a slice of cream cheese. Also the Bacon-wrapped Veal Meatloaf over mashed potatoes served open-faced and smothered in gravy. Foodgasm!

Cabo Fish Taco
A fun great hipster joint in Charlotte that has a menue exploding with creativity. Word of mouth has made this place a cult favorite with area foodies. Everything is good, but of course, try the fish tacos. Try the Tavarua Tuna Tacos... an unusual spicy/sweet asian twist in this baja eatery.

Midwood Smokehouse
This is my favorite Barbecue place in the Charlotte area. It's not your typical Carolina Style BBQ. It offers tastes of different regions. I love their brisket. They put concentration on their smoke... something a lot of area bbq joints dont do anymore.

Bagel Bin
There is no question that this is one of the best TRUE NY places in NC. Great bagels are the foundation of this Huntersville Hot Spot. The Bagel Sandwiches, piled high with delicious cold-cuts, are another reason they keep coming back. Breakfast or lunch, it's a must!

Dish
This homestyle cookin' gem is a hidden find. Minutes outside of Uptown Charlotte, the plain exterior hosts a cute, inviting atmosphere inside that warms you as much as their famed Chicken n Dumplins. The Cajun Meatloaf is another favorite.

Red Rocks
Fine dining in a casual setting in popular Birkdale Village. Red Rocks is very popular in the racing scene and known as one of the best places to eat in the area. The dishes are named after racing and local sports personalities. The question is... when will MD get a dish named after him? It's a must!

Concord Family Restaurant
This is a great food find! In this old Triangle shaped building sits one of the best dive-finds in NC. Concord Diner, as it is referred to by many locals, is a breakfast paradise (offered 24/7. The lunches and dinners are great too. The place is run by two brothers from NY, Gus and Pete. From Challah Bread French Toast, Pastrami sandwiches, to Ya-Ya's deserts... it gets big-ups on the yum-scale!
