LAKESIDE!
You may know Lakeside Speedway from the television show Heartland Thunder. You may know it because it is the track Clint Bowyer cut his teeth at. Either way, you need to go. They have full cards of racing action and one of the best dirt track facilities in the country. Check it out!

KANSAS SPEEDWAY
Come check out the triple-header weekend featuring ARCA, NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series.
DRIVE. IT'S WORTH IT!
Some of our picks are 30-or-so minutes away from the track but are so worth it. Whats an extra 15-20 minutes in a car to have some of the best barbecue in the country. Live a little. The road is an adventure worth experiencing!
CULVERS ADDICT
MD is officially a Culver's addict. Yes they are a chain, but the butter-burgers and cheese curds rock. Their custard is pretty amazing too. Make sure to try their seasonal Pumpkin Spice Shake. It's off the hook!
MISS THE DOTS VIDEO?
Dot's Back Inn in Richmond, VA was recently featured on Speedeats. Check it out!

LONNIE IS ON HIS WAY
Lonnie Clouse's Mission has become a permanent fixture on our site. That is because we believe in what he and his family are doing. The former Nationwide Series chaplain (MRO) for several years and his family are moving to Mexico to care for orphans.
Please pray for them and support their mission. click here
LEFTOVERS???

Squeaky Cheese in Wisconsin
Stroud's
(Randy Bolen - SPEED Pick)
Stoud's is a Kansas City tradition dating back to 1933. It's staple dish is simple, Pan Fried Chicken. The building is a beautiful old homestead. They have two locations but the one listed below is the original. The old fashioned Pan Fried Chicken dinners come with a salad or homemade chicen noodle soup, and your choice of Potato, Green Beans and homemade Cinammon Rolls. Yummmmm.

Hereford House: Zona Rosa
(MD Pick)
A bunch of us NASCAR people used to go to a Kansas City steakhouse tradition known as the Hereford House. Well, just two years ago that building blew up. Hereford House Zona Rosa stems from the great Hereford tradition serving some of the best steaks Kansas City has to offer in a upscale casual atmosphere. If you want a steak, Kansas does it right! Hereford has been doing it right for a long long time.

BB's Lawnside Barbecue
(Frank Bolter Pick)
What goes better with good Kansas City Barbecue than a side of Blues? We say, nothing. It's the perfect marraige. BB's Lawnside features ribs and other barbecue favorites from it's 60-year old smoker. They have some of the best live blues around nightly.

Emery's Steakhouse
(Erica Kron / MD Pick)
Located in the charming histoirc town-square in Paola, KS sits a little restaurant and bar known as the Emery's Steakhouse. Inside is a sandwich not for the faint of heart. The Emory's Fried Tenderlion sandwich is of legend. It looks like something from the movie "Uncle Buck." It's tasty and definitely worth snapping a picture of as well. Oh yeah, it's so big that you can actually order a second bun!

Oklahoma Joe's
(MD Pick)
With roots from the famed "Slaugherhouse Five" (known as one of the all-time great barbecue competition teams) this restaurant comes with some high expectations. It meets and in some ways exceeds them all. They are known for all types of barbecue, especially ribs. But try their Hog Heaven sandwich which includes pulled pork and sliced sausage.

MD & Guest FOOD PICKS!
Hillsdale Bank BBQ
(MD's Featured Pick)
This place is about 40-mins outside Kansas Speedway, but Barbecue lovers, that is a hop-skip-and-a-jump for a place THIS good! Hillsdale is a unique, wood-fired barbecue, in an old bank building. It's one of a kind and so is the food. Try a sampler platter. I'm in love with their burnt ends!
It's a must and one of my favorite places on the road! Their sauce is considered to be one of the best in Kansas.
