NEW! RANDOM YUMMINESS
MD Grabs a Sandwich at Amaghetti's
With MD not going to Indy this weekend we thought... what video should we put up? This wasn't a "planned" video but we figured we'd put it up anyway. MD tells us of a great Italian bakery in St. Louis, Missouri.
INDY SPECIAL GUEST
MONICA PALUMBO
Miss Sprint Cup's Cant Miss Eats
Race fans are familiar with their "fan on the inside" Miss Sprint Cup Monica Palumbo. But did you know she's a foodie too? From a classic brickyard breakfast to some good old fashioned soul-food, Monica has you covered!
SINGIN DA BLUES
Indiana's Oldest Bar is also one of MD's favorite places to go while in Indy. They have average pub-food but great music. During Brickyard week they'll have multiple stages for acts. My favorite time to go is Sunday night after the race, when it's quiet and you can chill out after a long weekend listening to the blues.
IZZY GOOD? MVB SAYS SO!
Fabricator and Tire Specialist Marc Van Brunt tells us that "the shrimp cocktail at Harry & Izzy's in downtown Indy will take your breath away! (literally). Even though it's a little pricey the food is excellent"
MORE THAN THE BRICKYARD!
Ok folks, this weekend is about much more than the prestigious race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. USAC, Camping World Trucks and the Nationwide Series area all in action at O'Reilly Raceway park just down the road.
BOWMAN GRAY
A summer weekend off for MD usually leads to a trip to one of NASCAR's most historic tracks, Bowman Gray Stadium (NC).
PAPPY'S OH MY!
How can I not mention Pappy's Smokehouse again? We dined there last week in St. Louis (near Gateway Int'l Raceway) and loved it. If you are in the area, put it on the list in permanent sharpie!
ITALIAN SO GOOD MAD MAX LOVES IT
Amaghetti's Bakery in St. Louis was so good even Max Papis likes it. When we stopped by to get a "Special" the lady behind the counter told us Max was in earlier and was speaking italian with the guys in the back! Good stuff.
MOVIN ON TO MEXICO
St. Louis weekend was the last race for our great friend Lonnie Clouse, who has served as the Nationwide Series chaplain for several years. Lonnie and his family are moving to Mexico to care for orphans. Please pray for them and support their mission. click here
KEEP THE PICKS COMING!
Between fans and people in the racing industry, we are loving the participation from everyone. Have a good food pick for an up-coming weekend or want to be a featured guest? Email us

MD & Guest Food Picks
St. Elmo's
St. Elmo's is an Indiana tradition. It's not cheap, but it is real good and something you must do at least once when you are in Indy.
The first time I went there was when I was covering Indy cars for TNN and it was for Chip Gannassi's birthday. Jimmy Vassar and Alex Zanardi were his drivers back then I believe. Since then, I have gone to Elmo's every year.
The steak is what they are known most for, but also try their legendary Shrimp Cocktail. The sauce is made with real good horseradish, and lots of it!!
