At a recent Kannapolis Intimidators game our great friend Kelley Schirmer showed us, on a dare, that eating a cricket wasn't so bad. The cricket didn't agree and was eaten alive. Yes, alive.

Classic moment, for us, not the cricket. Oh well Peta!

Gus' Pretzel
Since 1920, a St. Louis tradition. They bake some of the best pretzels I have ever had. Oh, and you can get hot dog, bratwurst and salsiccia pretzels. Ton's of creative pretzel menu items at this unique little spot. Stop by before the races and bring a bag to the track for your friends or just to hog yourself!  Gus' is one of Kappy's St. Louis picks as well but is so nice, I had to mention it twice!

Fitz's Soda Bar and Grill
Fitz's is known for their rootbeer but this Soulard district location, in the Delmar loop, is just an awesome place to go and have a fun meal. The neighborhood is as enjoyable as the food. Great burgers and of course... rootbeer!

THE LAST FOR LONNIE!
St. Louis is an emotional week for many of us in the NASCAR community. It will be the last race for our great friend Lonnie Clouse, who has served as the Nationwide Series chaplain for several years. Lonnie and his family are moving to Mexico to care for orphans. Please pray for them and support their mission. It's an amazing story.

Stand in Line and try a concret at Ted Drewes. You won't be disappointed by the custard or the experience.

MD Picks
Ted Drewes
Ok, I know, I know... it's not a dinner pick. But c'mon, frozen custard at Ted Drewes is LEGENDARY!  Mike Wallace took me to this place for the first time. Last year I went with Drewes custard veterans, and motorsports writers, Lee and Reid Spencer.

Don't be scared when you see the people lined up. The line goes lightning quick.  The custard is just amazing. I will go on the record saying it's the best I have ever had!  I am confident that my friends Phil Kelley and Krista Voda would agree!
