THANKS TO TTIANA!
We all know and love ESPN's Tracey Hartman on the social networking sites. Last week in Michigan she posted several pics from a restaurant in Ann Arbor on our facebook page. "Blue Tractor" looked yummy in the pictures and we found it to be very yummy the next night when we ate there!

FRIED BUTTER?
Last time at Bristol, they had some unique items for media members to try, including fried butter. Lets see what they have this year. Bristol rocks!

MRO BLACK ROCK EVENT A SUCCESS
Speedeats' Matthew Dillner would like to personally thank everyone who participated in the 3nd Annual NASCAR Night MRO event at Dundee, NY's Black Rock Speedway. Drivers Michael McDowell, Trevor Bayne, Ricky Stenhouse and JJ Yeley all helped make the night special for the packed crowd.  Yeley won the driver race. MRO's Billy Mauldin too the checkers in the celebrity race. Earnhardt Ganassi Racing's #1 team swept the NASCAR team races. NASCAR.com did a great "all access" video on the crew races.

Restaurant la Cabane de Portugal
(MD and Dominic Fugère Pick)
Right across the street from Schwartz's is another Speedeats favorite, Restaurant la Cabane de Portugal.  Dom took MD and Jacques Villaneuve here (on the same night as Schwartz) and it is a great little find. Great bar/ restaurant with reasonable and very tasty food!   Portuguese style dishes that will most certainly satisfy your palet. The Petisco is an awesome appetizer.

Mon Nan Village
(Dominic Fugère Pick)
This Montreal Cantonese restaurant is a favorite of Dominic Fugère. The place is one of his favorite spots after a delightful night of drinking, eating and being merry!  We have not been there but trust our fellow foodie Dom if he says it is good. Dom knows Montreal and we listen to locals!

Stash Cafe
(MD Pick)
Polish food in Montreal??? Our answer is yet.  Two proud Polish people, MD and ESPN editor Mary Reese, took ESPN's Matt Ruhe to Stash last year. All three eaters were not disappoined.

From Bigos, Placki, Golabki to Krokeity... the selections prove Stash to be an authentic Polish food find. Recipes at Stash have been handed down for generations. They have four-course meals that are a great value.  MD had the primer last year and loved it.

The front of their menu describes it best:
"Welcome to Stash's where Old Montreal's stone walls meet old Poland's cuisine. Before you start... a word of advise... Anything tastes better with vodka, even vodka."

ANOTHER GOOD FOOD PICK...

The Keg
(MD Pick)
A Canadian based chain that is pretty darn good if you aren't into going out of your wheelhouse during the Monreal trip. Try the location in Old Montreal.

Montréal, Quebec  Canada

Look at that meat! (sha sha sha). Schwartz's meat will never disappoint.  I mean, seriously, look at that!!!!!
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
MD & Guest FOOD PICKS!
Schwartz's
(MD and Dominic Fugère Pick)
Smoked Meat Paradise. Since 1928 this Montreal tradition has been filling bellies and providing foodgasms to locals and tourists. Dominic took MD there in 2009 for a late night meal which consisted of the fatty-cut on rye! WOW is all I can say. MD will go on the record that it was the best smoked meat sandwich he's ever had.

The place has loads of character, especially at night. Make it a must on your Montreal trip.

When in Rome, do as Romans?

Well, if you are in Canada this weekend for the NASCAR race, why not find a hockey game? MD is a big hockey fan and enjoyed some hot chocolate and Quebec Junior League action last year.
